Job description:

Duties include but are not limited to:

• Prepare and strap horses for trackwork, trials and races
• Feed, groom and follow all reasonable instruction to promote, maintain and improve the quality of horse management and training of racehorses
• Report to Trainer or Foreperson all elements of horse’s performance
• Any other basic stable duties

Locations & Schedule:

Kulnura

• Monday to Saturday 0600-1700
• Sunday 0700-1700

Wyong

• Monday to Saturday 0400-1000, 1500-1700
• Sunday 0600-1000, 1500-1700

Requirements:

• Stablehand: must have 1+ year horse handling experience and be familiar with stable duties
• Sr Stablehand: Must have 3+ years of racing stable experience, in a similar role
• Must hold valid driving license and have reliable transport

Compensation and Benefits:

• Salary DOE significantly above Award, with 1- and 3-year longevity increases
• Stablehand: $31.50 – $36.40 / hr. (Target Annual Compensation in excess of $80,000)
• Sr. Stablehand: $35.80 – $38.05 / hr. (Target Annual Compensation in excess of $95,000)
• Generous allowances, performance bonuses and Christmas bonuses
