Sara Ryan is a rising star of Australia’s training ranks. Domeland’s head trainer oversees all of the stable’s runners from yearlings through to those in full work and competing in major carnivals. Sara came to racing with an equestrian background that provided her with unique skills within the racing industry. Sara can ride her horses in their trackwork, assisting them in developing the equestrian skills that complement their racing performance. Her innovation and attention to detail have helped Domeland’s runners to reach the top levels of Australian racing.

Sara spent time with the likes of three-time Olympian Vicki Roycroft learning her craft through eventing and showjumping. She came to racing to ride trackwork and continued on in the sport, teaming with Domeland in 2019 to assist in pre-training their younger horses. At the time, Domeland’s horses were transferred to trainers in Sydney and Melbourne when they reached racing level.

In 2023, Domeland decided to bring all of their horses under a Head Trainer, providing Sara with the opportunity. She showed her quality in the coming months, preparing Attractable to win the $3 million Big Dance (1600m) at Randwick in November. All the while, Sara has continued to build the Domeland team while notching an excellent winning strike-rate.
